Edmund Charles Burrows; Driver, Army Service Corps.

Edmund Burrows was born in St John’s Wood, London on 27th November 1897. In 1911, he was employed as a harness maker’s apprentice. As a trained saddler, Edmund joined the Army Service Corps as a Transport Special (Trade) and was given the rank of Driver. Edmund was posted to France on 19th September 1915 and remained there until he was demobilised on 26th June 1920. For his war service, Edmund received the 1914-15 Star and the British War and Victory Medals.

In 1938, Edmund married Alice Emerson and moved into Edwin Avenue, Woodbridge, where he died in February 1950. Edmund is buried in Woodbridge New Cemetery.
