Doe's Alley

Doe's Alley or Valley Farm Road

DOE’S ALLEY is the original name of Valley Farm Road. Close to the junction with Woods Lane is Potash Farm. The original farmhouse has since been demolished and replaced with a new building.

All the cottages are along the lefthand side of the road and housed the families of farm labourers or workers on the various local estates. Not many of the original houses now remain; four were demolished and two new bungalows were built in their place, the next four cottages were converted into a single house and the next two were replaced by a single house.

Laundry Cottages, Valley Farm and Valley Hall Farm Cottages all remain and were part of the Foxborough Hall Estate during the Great War.
