Maud Athroll

Maud Athroll married Leonard Crane in Edmonton, London, on 13th August 1913. They had two sons, Leonard Charles and Frederick James. Leonard was conscripted into the Royal Garrison Artillery (RGA) and posted to France on 30th September 1916 where he joined the 16th Heavy Battery RGA.

On 1st June 1917, Leonard was seriously wounded and returned to England for treatment. He died of his wounds a week later on the 8th June. He is buried in Edmonton Cemetery, London.

Upon the death of her four-year-old son, Frederick James, in 1920, Maud returned to Melton with her remaining son, Leonard. Towards the end of 1920, Maud married Sidney Richardson and by 1939 they were living in Deben Road, Woodbridge. Maud died in 1962.
